Earlier this month, Tami and I had the pleasure of speaking at the Johtajaverkosto. Our message was clear: we are currently witnessing a staggering gap between the world’s most advanced AI technology and the ability to actually utilize it in day-to-day business and decision-making.
While the underlying models become increasingly powerful, the practical impact remains hard to reach for most. This disconnect is the primary reason why a sobering 80%+ of organizations see zero ROI from their AI pilots.
The result of this gap is a phenomenon HBR recently termed ”AI Brain Fry” – the exhaustion from the cumulative mental tax that occurs when humans are forced to constantly monitor, prompt, and fix AI outputs. Because current AI models are fundamentally context-blind, they cannot see e.g. organizational history or project dependencies. Consequently, employees are forced to manually ”feed” the AI rather than working alongside or being supported by it, which only increases their cognitive load.
Our mission at Eleiris is to bridge this gap by providing the Context Intelligence Layer necessary for AI to excel in complex reasoning tasks at a level previously unattainable.
- Move beyond tool fragmentation: Individuals and organizations quickly reach a cognitive limit when forced to juggle a disconnected landscape of AI tools. When the burden of coordinating information and managing the ”glue” between systems remains on the human, the result is information overload and further exhaustion from constant oversight. True value is found when AI can understand the relationships between relevant data and manage the whole, rather than just acting as another isolated tool to monitor.
- Embrace controlled, rapid experimentation: Real value isn’t found in abstract, massive rollouts. It comes from rapid experimentation and sharp prioritization – targeting areas where work processes are currently most broken – while consistently measuring and analyzing the benefits.
- Prioritize lightweight, plug-and-play solutions: Avoid the trap of creating unsustainable technical debt. Rushing point-solution AI POCs into production often creates silos that do not share a common technological infrastructure. This creates significant bottlenecks for scaling AI and maintaining security. Scalability depends on solutions that offer value from day one and ensure seamless interoperability with your existing information and data.
Investing successfully in AI is difficult. While you focus on increasing your understanding of the technology and its possibilities and capturing those first measurable wins, ensure that your AI strategy does not accumulate an increasing amount of technical debt. If left unchecked, this debt will inevitably burden your results and challenge your progress in the mid-to-long term.
Thank you to everyone in Johtajaverkosto for the insightful discussions!
